New wildfires have been affecting California, with the latest near Castaic Lake on 22 January.
On 22 January, a new wind-driven wildfire near Castaic Lake, north of Los Angeles, USA, forced the evacuation of 31,000 residents. It charred an area of nearly 41 square kilometres.
On 23 January, students at Channel Island University in Camarillo were evacuated due to another wildfire.
